Many have been asking about the “model” who posed for the landmark “Lose-Fat-Gain-Muscle” system. If you are one of the many, this feature article should prove to be of particular interest to you: that all of the images are that of the creator of the program himself.

He graduated with a Bachelors Degree (first class honors) in chemical engineering from the University of Cape Town in 1995. He then earned a PhD in 1998. During the course of his academic career, he was the recipient of several awards, including the South African Institute of Chemical Engineers Medal for Research, The Sasol Achievement Award for Chemical Engineering, and the Cape Town Corp. Gold Medal for Chemical Engineering.

At the age of 24, Dr. Nick Hallale was recruited as a Lecturer at the University of Manchester in England, where he established himself as an international expert in energy and water conservation methods. He has been published in all the major journals in his field, including Chemical Engineering Magazine, Chemical Engineering Progress, Chemical Engineering Science and Computers and Chemical Engineering. His work has also appeared in encyclopedias and textbooks, including Process Design Tools for the Environment and Practical Advances in Petroleum Processing.

His research at the University of Manchester led to his being invited to give a presentation at the House of Commons in London, and he was also part of a team giving consultation to the British Foreign Commonwealth Office on actions to prevent climate change. He has also delivered seminars, industrial consulting and conference papers all over the world, and was a guest lecturer at the University of Auburn in Alabama (USA) and Monash University in Australia.

In his mid-30s, unhappy with his poor level of health and Physical Fitness, he turned his scientific knowledge to the task of transforming his body. His background in chemical engineering was a perfect foundation, thanks to the parallels that exist between the human body’s chemical and biochemical processes and the ones that occur on an industrial scale.

At the same time, he drew upon extensive research into classical Greek athletics and revived many of the secrets used to develop the ideal Greek body of antiquity. These ancient methods were integrated with his knowledge of modern science to create what he calls “The Apollo Program.” This system incorporates the Greek “tetrad” method for structuring a training program, as well as many of the traditional Olympic Exercises like the Greek Long Jump, Discus, Javelin, Greek Press and more.

Hallale tested and refined his system on himself, achieving a dramatic change in his body, overall appearance and quality of life. He dropped from a weight of 100 kg to 79.5 kg, and his waist size shrank from 40 inches to 32 inches. Thanks to the careful balance of stretching, breathing and relaxation in his system, he also achieved his teenage levels of flexibility and suppleness.

To help mark his triumphant transformation, he hired professional photographer Ian Cartwright to take some “after” photos. These photos attracted attention from the media, and led to a feature article in a major British newspaper. The pictures also made it into the finals of the Fujifilm Photographic Competition, and were selected for display at an exhibition in London in 2009.

This generated much demand for his novel training and diet system, and so he set up a website offering online consultation and coaching services to clients around the world. This had enormous success, with clients achieving similar transformations themselves. However, the demand grew to the point where there was a long waiting list to join his online client base.

In response, Hallale converted his system into a downloadable, distance-learning format comprising reading materials and a range of demonstration videos. The development of this course made use of his experience as an educator in universities, where he helped students attain engineering degrees using a similar approach. The downloadable system has proved to be hugely successful, with both men and women from around the world reporting impressive results. Many of these happy customers say that they have achieved better results within weeks than other methods had delivered in months or even years. A big part of the success of his system is its convenience and ease of use. The workouts are designed to be quick, making them suitable for busy people. And they require very little equipment.

Hallale is eager to stress that his system is not a typical Bodybuilding program nor an ordinary “lose-fat-gain-muscle” system. What sets it apart is that it is all totally natural. It does not require surgery, anabolic drugs, fat burner pills or any other artificial means. Instead, it is an holistic approach to health and fitness, giving safe, sustainable results and a totally new way of life.
